Words shape the way we see ourselves. And some words, whether by accident or design, have worked to 𝗲𝗿𝗮𝘀𝗲 𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗿 𝘁𝗵𝗮𝗻 𝗵𝗼𝗻𝗼𝗿 𝘂𝘀.

Not originally an anatomical term but a metaphor, 𝗮 𝘀𝗽𝗮𝗰𝗲 𝗱𝗲𝗳𝗶𝗻𝗲𝗱 𝗼𝗻𝗹𝘆 𝗯𝘆 𝘄𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗿𝘀 𝗶𝘁.

𝗪𝗶𝘁𝗵 𝘁𝗵𝗮𝘁, 𝗜 𝗮𝗺 𝗽𝗮𝘀𝘀𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗮 𝗺𝗼𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝘁𝗼 𝗯𝗿𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗯𝗮𝗰𝗸 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝘄𝗼𝗿𝗱 𝗖𝗩𝗡𝗧!

𝗨𝗻𝗹𝗶𝗸𝗲 "𝘃𝗮𝗴𝗶𝗻𝗮", cvnt was 𝗻𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗿 𝗮 𝘁𝗲𝗿𝗺 𝗶𝗺𝗽𝗼𝘀𝗲𝗱 𝗯𝘆 𝗼𝘂𝘁𝘀𝗶𝗱𝗲𝗿𝘀, it was a 𝗱𝗶𝗿𝗲𝗰𝘁, 𝘂𝗻𝗳𝗶𝗹𝘁𝗲𝗿𝗲𝗱, 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗺𝗮𝘁𝘁𝗲𝗿-𝗼𝗳-𝗳𝗮𝗰𝘁 name for 𝗳𝗲𝗺𝗮𝗹𝗲 𝗮𝗻𝗮𝘁𝗼𝗺𝘆.

It wasn’t a slur. It wasn’t shameful. 𝗜𝘁 𝗷𝘂𝘀𝘁 𝘄𝗮𝘀.

It was 𝗲𝗿𝗮𝘀𝗲𝗱 𝗳𝗿𝗼𝗺 𝗱𝗶𝗰𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝗮𝗿𝗶𝗲𝘀, replaced by 𝗰𝗹𝗶𝗻𝗶𝗰𝗮𝗹 𝗟𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗻, and 𝘁𝘂𝗿𝗻𝗲𝗱 𝗶𝗻𝘁𝗼 𝗮𝗻 𝗶𝗻𝘀𝘂𝗹𝘁

𝗯𝗲𝗰𝗮𝘂𝘀𝗲 𝗮 𝘄𝗼𝗿𝗱 𝘁𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝗼𝗽𝗲𝗻𝗹𝘆 𝗻𝗮𝗺𝗲𝗱 𝗳𝗲𝗺𝗮𝗹𝗲 𝘀𝗲𝘅𝘂𝗮𝗹𝗶𝘁𝘆 𝘄𝗮𝘀 𝘁𝗼𝗼 𝗽𝗼𝘄𝗲𝗿𝗳𝘂𝗹.

It means 𝗳𝗶𝗲𝗿𝗰𝗲.
It means 𝘂𝗻𝘁𝗼𝘂𝗰𝗵𝗮𝗯𝗹𝗲.
It means owning your femininity with full confidence.

𝗧𝗼 “𝘀𝗲𝗿𝘃𝗲 𝗰𝘃𝗻𝘁” is to be 𝘂𝗻𝘀𝘁𝗼𝗽𝗽𝗮𝗯𝗹𝗲 𝗶𝗻 𝘆𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗽𝗿𝗲𝘀𝗲𝗻𝗰𝗲.

So yeah, I’ll take “𝗰𝘃𝗻𝘁” over “𝘷𝘢𝘨𝘪𝘯𝘢” any day.
